Alexander Bublik Sends Strong Message to Corentin Moutet After Heated Paris Clash

-

Alexander Bublik had the perfect response when Corentin Moutet tried to trash talk him before their 2025 Paris Masters match.

These two have serious history. They faced off earlier this year at a Challenger event in Phoenix, and things got pretty heated.

Bublik won that match 2-7, 7-6(4), 7-5, but the real drama happened afterward. The two players almost got into a physical fight, continuing disagreements that had been brewing throughout the entire match.

So when they met again in the second round of the Paris Masters, everyone knew sparks would fly.

Moutet Talks Big Before the Match

Moutet didn’t hold back when talking to reporters before their Paris showdown. He made it clear he wanted to embarrass Bublik in front of his home crowd.

"We know he is very provocative with the other players, disrespects other tennis players. We have had disagreements in the past because he does not represent my values as an athlete. I will be super motivated to send him home with the help of the crowd."

Pretty bold words from the Frenchman.

But Bublik had the last laugh once again.

He won the match in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5.

And then came the perfect revenge moment. After the match, Bublik signed the camera lens with a cheeky message: "On the way home."

It was obviously aimed right at Moutet, who’d promised to send Bublik packing. Instead, it was the French player heading home early from his own tournament.

When reporters asked Bublik about his camera signature, he didn’t shy away from explaining exactly what he meant.

"Obviously, he spoke too much before the match, and I just had to punish him. I had no other option. Well, he said that he’ll do everything to send me home, so it’s nice that he lives in Paris – it’s not too far with a taxi."

Ouch.

Moutet’s Response Shows He’s Got a Sense of Humor

During his post-match press conference, Moutet was asked about Bublik’s comments.

He actually saw the funny side of it, pointing out one small problem with Bublik’s joke.

"Well, I now live in Dubai."

So much for that short taxi ride home.

When asked if there was tension before the match because of their Phoenix incident, Moutet tried to take the high road. He said he focused on his own tennis rather than their past drama.

"No. Today I tried to focus on myself. I don’t think it was personal. He likes to make fun of players. I don’t know what you expect from me. Some people talk; some people don’t. I guess he’s part of the first category. He loves to verbally clash with people. I don’t like that kind of thing."

But Moutet didn’t completely back down. He made it clear he knows exactly what kind of person Bublik is behind the scenes.

"When things go beyond words, I know how people behave and I know what kind of character he is apart from the character that is shown in the media. So it’s no use talking behind the mic. He’s good enough to do that by himself. I’ll let him do it."

This rivalry definitely isn’t over. With personalities like these two, there’s bound to be more fireworks the next time their paths cross on court.
