Bianca Andreescu made it to the final at the 2024 Libema Open and will jump 65 spots in the WTA Rankings.
She had been absent most of the year due to injuries, only returning at Roland Garros. Her hard work paid off as she came back strong.
In Paris, she played well, and then in the Netherlands, she reached the final of Libema Open, beating players like Naomi Osaka .
Andreescu’s Journey:
Sadly, Andreescu couldn’t clinch the title. She lost to Liudmila Samsonova who turned around the match after losing the first set. It was a tough loss since Andreescu hasn’t won a trophy since her amazing 2019 US Open victory.
Still, this performance boosts her ranking significantly. Fans might think this is a promising sign for her future tournaments.
The points she gained from Den Bosch helped her jump from world no. 228 to no. 163 on the WTA Rankings with a total of 456 points now.
Though she’s not yet where she wants to be, if she keeps playing like this, she’ll be back in the Top 50 soon enough.
