Lorenzo Musetti just became a dad for the second time, and he’s pretty excited about it. His girlfriend Veronica Confalonieri gave birth to a baby boy named Leandro on November 29.
The couple’s been together since 2022, and their first child Ludovico is now a year and eight months old.
Musetti shared the happy news on Instagram over the weekend with a simple but sweet caption: "Love multiplies."

It’s been a pretty amazing year for the Italian tennis star both on and off the court. He reached the ATP Top 10 for the first time this season, climbing all the way to World No. 6 back in June.
That’s a career-high ranking for the 22-year-old.
He racked up 45 wins throughout 2024 and made some serious noise at the biggest tournaments. But here’s the thing that’s gotta be frustrating – he reached three finals this year and couldn’t close the deal on any of them.
Still, going from a family of three to four probably makes those losses sting a little less.
His breakthrough year included a first ATP Finals appearance
Musetti finally made it to the ATP Finals for the first time this year. He actually got in because Novak Djokovic withdrew from the tournament – the same Djokovic who beat him in the Athens final earlier.
The Finals didn’t go exactly as planned, though.
Taylor Fritz beat him pretty handily in straight sets in his opening match. But then Musetti bounced back with a really gutsy win over Alex de Minaur in three tough sets.
His run ended there when Carlos Alcaraz – who finished the year as World No. 1 – knocked him out before the semifinals.
So close to Grand Slam glory
The Grand Slams have been where Musetti’s really started to make his mark. This year alone, he made the semifinals at both Wimbledon and Roland-Garros, plus the quarterfinals at the US Open.
That’s some serious consistency at the biggest tournaments in tennis.
He’s got two ATP titles under his belt, both from 2022 when he won in Hamburg and Naples. Since then? Six finals, zero trophies.
Talk about being close but not quite there yet.
Some of those losses have been really tough to swallow. At Queen’s Club this year, Tommy Paul beat him in the final. Then Francisco Cerundolo denied him another title in Umag just weeks later.
Maybe the most frustrating loss came against Shang Juncheng at the Chengdu Open, where Musetti was actually the top seed.
Earlier in the year, he was just one set away from his first Masters 1000 title before Alcaraz staged a comeback to steal the trophy. Then in September, Alejandro Tabilo beat him in another Chengdu final.
Family motivation driving his rise
Musetti’s said before that becoming a father to Ludovico gave him extra motivation this season. Having that little guy cheering him on from home seemed to really push him to new heights.
Now with baby Leandro joining the family, he’s got an even bigger support crew at home.
The timing’s pretty perfect, actually. Musetti’s currently ranked World No. 8, and at just 22 years old, he’s got plenty of time to turn those final appearances into actual titles.
With the way he’s been playing at the Grand Slams lately, 2025 could be the year he finally breaks through for that first major championship.
And if it happens, he’ll have two little boys to celebrate with.
