Novak Djokovic is widely considered the greatest tennis player of all time. Now, he and his sponsor Lacoste are really leaning into that reputation with a pretty cool new clothing line ahead of the US Open.
The Serbian superstar has been working with the French fashion company since May 2017. Over the years, they’ve created some seriously impressive outfits for the 24-time Grand Slam champion.
That includes his all-black look for the 2025 US Open. It’s definitely a change from the bright colors he usually goes for, but fans are loving the sharp new style.
| Name | Age | Points | Stats 2024 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Novak Djokovic | 38 | 8,360 | 18 - 6 |
But Lacoste didn’t stop there.
The company just dropped a video revealing special new clothing that celebrates Djokovic’s status as the GOAT – that’s "greatest of all time" for anyone who’s not up on tennis slang.
The video starts with a compilation of tweets from fans calling Djokovic the GOAT, with audio in the background doing the same thing. It’s pretty clear what message they’re trying to send.
From Crocodile to Goat
Here’s where it gets interesting. Lacoste is famous for that green crocodile logo on all their products. Some of Djokovic’s most dedicated fans even put the symbol on their social media profiles.
In fact, Thanasi Kokkinakis says most of the online abuse he gets comes from Djokovic fans who have that Lacoste crocodile in their profiles.
Now Lacoste is doing something they’ve never done before. They’re replacing their iconic green crocodile with a goat symbol on limited-edition clothing.
The new collection is almost entirely white, which gives it a clean, classic look. In the promotional video, three Djokovic fans show off the different pieces.
One woman wears a white hat, shirt, and trousers – casual but stylish. Another sports a white shirt and skirt with some black trim at the bottom. Simple design, but it works really well for club players.
The male fan in the video goes for a more formal look with shirt, trousers, and a classy blazer. It’s the kind of outfit you’d see Djokovic or Roger Federer wearing at Wimbledon.
Djokovic’s fanbase is incredibly loyal, so they’ll probably rush to buy these goat-themed designs. The partnership between Lacoste and Djokovic has been hugely successful, and this latest move will likely continue that trend.
Ready for Flushing Meadows
Djokovic hasn’t played since losing his Wimbledon semifinal to Jannik Sinner earlier this year. He was dealing with some physical issues in that match, but he says he’s fully recovered now.
The four-time US Open champion will kick off his 2025 campaign during the first night session at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
His opponent? Learner Tien, who made headlines by beating Daniil Medvedev at this year’s Australian Open.
Djokovic needs just one more Grand Slam title to become the first singles player ever to reach 25 major championships. He hasn’t won one since the 2023 US Open, but you’d be foolish to count him out completely.
At 37, he’s still playing at an incredible level. And with his new goat-themed gear from Lacoste, he’ll definitely look the part of tennis royalty.
