Stefanos Tsitsipas & Paula Badosa Break Up Again After Second Split

-

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa have reportedly broken up again, according to multiple outlets covering the tennis power couple.

The two players went public with their relationship back in 2023. They’ve never really tried to hide their romance from the media – both have been pretty open about their feelings for each other.

But this isn’t their first split.

They actually broke up briefly in May 2024 before getting back together just a few weeks ago. Tsitsipas’ mother even claimed she helped get them back together and wasn’t too happy about not getting enough credit for playing matchmaker.

The Latest Breakup

Everything seemed to be going well for the couple over the past several months. But Spanish magazine Hola! is now reporting that they’ve called it quits again, citing sources close to both players.

The first clue something was wrong? Fans noticed they’d unfollowed each other on social media.

That’s usually not a good sign when you’re supposed to be dating.

According to sources quoted in the Hola! article, the split happened right after both players crashed out in the first round at 2025 Wimbledon. Tsitsipas actually retired from his match due to injury, while Badosa lost in three sets to Katie Boulter.

Tough Times on Court

"The breakup just happened. They both lost in the first round in London and everything has come together for them."

The sources say their struggles on the tennis court have been putting serious strain on their relationship. But apparently the split was mutual – no drama, no third parties involved.

"Both were going through a rough patch professionally, with injuries, and that affected their relationship. They’re not well, of course. It’s normal for any couple that breaks up. They had started the year very well, and their dream has been shattered. It’s a healthy breakup and there were no third parties or family influences, as is starting to be said."

This news might explain some of Tsitsipas’ emotional comments around his Wimbledon retirement. The former ATP Finals champion admitted before his match that he’d been dealing with anxiety issues.

After retiring from his first-round match, the Greek No. 1 opened up about his ongoing back problems over the last 18 months.

He even said he might quit tennis altogether if the injuries don’t improve.

While the report says they didn’t break up until after Wimbledon, it’s possible that relationship troubles were already weighing on Tsitsipas’ mind during the tournament.

Both Battling Injuries

Badosa’s been fighting her own injury demons too. She’s been dealing with a chronic back problem since mid-2023 that just won’t go away.

The former world No. 2 has shown incredible courage coming back from the injury multiple times and even had some good results. But the back issues keep coming back to haunt her.

A few months ago, Badosa made a pretty shocking admission – she expects to retire much younger than most players because of her chronic injury problems.

The 27-year-old hopes to win a Grand Slam before hanging up her racket. She’s said she’d consider her career a disappointment if that doesn’t happen.

It’s tough to see two talented players dealing with both physical and personal struggles at the same time. Both Tsitsipas and Badosa have been fan favorites, not just for their tennis but for how open they’ve been about their relationship.

For now, it looks like they’re both focusing on getting their careers back on track – separately.
