Carlos Alcaraz is now focusing on the Cinch Championships and the grass season.
After an amazing two weeks in Paris, he became the youngest player to win a Grand Slam on every surface. He clinched Roland Garros after already winning Wimbledon and the US Open in previous years.
Now, he’s ready for new challenges on the grass courts. Last year, he defeated Novak Djokovic to win Wimbledon .
Alcaraz doesn’t dwell on past victories. In London, he emphasized his focus on the upcoming Cinch Championships.

Shifting Focus:
“We have to be focused on the tournament we’re playing right now. Obviously, Roland Garros was a fantastic two weeks for me and a dream come true to lift the trophy but right now my mind must be here on the grass.”
Surprisingly, Alcaraz decided to participate in the ATP 500 tournament at Queen’s Club instead of resting after Paris. Just one week post-French Open victory, he’s back and eager for more competition.
“I’m really happy to be back,” he said. “I arrived yesterday morning and was on the grass for 25 minutes before rain came. Today, I had over two hours practicing, playing sets and tie-breaks which helped me a lot to be ready before we start the tournament.”
Grass wasn’t his favorite surface initially, but winning at Queen’s last year changed that perspective significantly. Fans might think it’s inspiring how quickly he’s adapted.
Winning there gave him confidence heading into Wimbledon where he triumphed again. This year, he’s hoping for similar success while understanding it will take time.
“I have more matches under my belt on the grass now and had a great run last year across both tournaments,” Alcaraz explained. “I know a little bit more about how to play and I’m more mature on this surface.”
“The first practice I did here wasn’t as good as last year but it’s a slow process – I have to stay very focused during practice and each match but I’m sure I’ll reach 100%.”
What do you think about Alcaraz’s chances this season?
