Alcaraz & Sinner Train Together Despite Rivalry in Preseason

-

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been spotted having a blast during practice. Their coaches kept a keen eye on them as they geared up for the new season.

Alcaraz is back in Spain after a hectic off-season. He had a thrilling exhibition match against Tommy Paul in Mexico City. Nearly 30,000 fans were there, cheering him on.

After that, he was off to Los Cabos. There, he trained hotel guests while also hanging out with his pals. A bit of work, a bit of play, you know?

His return to Murcia was quite the spectacle. He was given the honor of lighting up the Christmas tree. It’s a big deal in his hometown, attracting large crowds during the festive season. Now, he’s swapped his holiday attire for tennis gear, getting ready for the new season.

He had a special guest at the JC Ferrero Tennis Academy in Villena. Jannik Sinner, who’s been in Spain for a week, came by to polish his game. Simone Vagnozzi, one of his coaches, was there too, after Sinner’s own brief rest period.

Sinner’s been basking in the glory of Italy’s first Davis Cup title in 47 years. He’s become a bit of a national hero. He even got to watch his favorite football club in Milan and visited the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Maranello.

There were rumors that the two players would have an exhibition match, but that’s not happened yet. Sinner did, however, answer the call to come to Villena and practice with Alcaraz.

The two have faced each other seven times on the ATP Tour. Sinner, who’s 22, currently leads with a 4-3 record. After their practice session, they took a photo with their coaches.

Juan Carlos Ferrero and Samuel Lopez were there too. But Ferrero won’t be accompanying Alcaraz to Australia. He’s had knee surgery, so Lopez will be stepping in for him.

“Thanks @janniksin for coming to train at @EqueliteFerrero! Great morning and a great session! Warming up for 2024!” one of them posted.

“A good day of practice,” the other agreed.
