Carlos Alcaraz Uses Innovative Technology to Dominate Wimbledon

-

Carlos Alcaraz was already the betting favorite to win Wimbledon 2025, but the Spanish superstar might be even harder to beat thanks to some pretty cool tech he’s using.

Alcaraz cruised into the fourth round after beating Jan-Lennard Struff in four sets. The German put up a decent fight, but it always felt like Alcaraz had things under control.

This year’s tournament has been brutal heat-wise.

The opening day set a record as the hottest ever at Wimbledon. Players and fans have been doing everything they can to stay cool and hydrated.

Every player has their own tricks for dealing with hot weather. But Alcaraz is using something way more high-tech than anyone else in the draw.

He’s been wearing this blue patch called the SweaTracker on his chest that monitors his sweat and hydration levels in real time. It makes sure he’s getting exactly the right amount of fluids so the heat doesn’t slow him down.

Used It During Epic French Open Win

This isn’t the first time Alcaraz has used the technology. He also wore it during that incredible 2025 French Open final against Jannik Sinner, which Alcaraz won after saving three championship points in the deciding set.

That match was absolutely insane – 5 hours and 29 minutes, making it the longest French Open final ever.

You can bet Alcaraz was grateful to have that tech monitoring his body during such a grueling battle.

When asked about the chest patch, Alcaraz talked about how even tiny advantages can make a huge difference when you’re trying to win the biggest tournaments in the world.

"I always say that details make the difference. Yes, it’s something to control sweat, to know what I should take during matches, before matches, to be at 100%. It probably only helps me one or two percent more. But I believe, as I said, that details make the difference. It’s something I work on sometimes. I did it in Paris. I use it here to see what I should take."

The technology comes from a company called Sweanty. The SweaTracker is expected to hit the market sometime next year, so athletes like Alcaraz get to test it out before the rest of us can buy it.

Tough Competition Ahead

Alcaraz might need every advantage he can get to win a third straight Wimbledon title. Sinner and Novak Djokovic are projected to meet in the semifinal, and both are playing really well right now.

Either one would be a serious challenge in the final.

Still, the world No. 2 has every reason to feel confident about winning another Wimbledon crown. He’s been the best grass-court player since 2023, and it’s gonna take something special to stop him.

Not everyone’s having such a good time at this year’s tournament. Stefanos Tsitsipas retired in the first round, and his new coach Goran Ivanisevic absolutely tore into his fitness and professionalism afterward, calling it the worst he’s ever seen from a player.

That’s pretty harsh coming from a former Wimbledon champion.
